So, for all of you who visited this wonderful blog today. I’ve got something for all animelovers out there, or more like, I’ve got something for everyone who has yet to realise the grand potential the anime business possesses. Code Geass is an animeseries that has been critically acclaimed by most famous anime reviewers as an excellent series which constantly keeps you on your toes.

Though the first season may be dull at a few moments (not saying it’s a bad season, just that the second is better), the second season makes up for it by offering a wide array of content and taking us to see new characters as well as killing off old ones, in a more or less literar way. Get to see this series, now. Just make sure to have a buddy who’s either watching it himself (and you keep up with eachother in episode count) or that you’re watching it with someone else. The series doesn’t require someone to watch it with you, but discussing the plot and characters is definitely worth your time and will keep both of you wondering who’s right and wrong.

Today’s gaming climate is hardening among the internetbrowsing gaming geeks. They’ve grown some kind of ulterior armor and equipped themselves with explosive rounded machineguns in order to make sure they don’t have to play every game in the universe. It’s obvious when you read reviews online that people mostly go for games above 80/100, being in the 70-79/100 area is extremely hazardous and is where a game starts to lose a lot of internetgeeks. You’ll see them rampaging over games that receive less than 70/100 as if the world was hitting the apocalypse the next day, and they were hoping at least one good game could be released the day before.

I feel the need to quote one of these moronic persons who rampage our dear online landscape.

“Please remove your head from you know where.. Bungie was RIGHT on the money with what he said.. You than quote another games scores? Maybe you should check what thread your in before you post.. This game is a huge waste of money and has recieved many bad scores.

GamePro = 70

White Knight Chronicles is definitely hit-or-miss at times, and while it finds itself occasionally hampered by a stale single-player campaign and wonky combat system, the overall experience brings just enough fresh content and online innovations to the table to make it a worthwhile purchase for hardcore JRPG fans.

Game Informer = 73

White Knight Chronicles was a disappointment for me, especially coming from a quality developer like Level-5. Some of the studio’s trademark customization helps to give the game some legs, as does its hefty multiplayer component. However, for interesting combat, deep characters, and an engaging fantasy, I’d look elsewhere.

When I’m in the market for an RPG, it’s for a select few reasons: I’m looking for an epic story, rad loot, combat that stimulates the tactical chunks of my brain, and beautiful environments. White Knight Chronicles does none of these things well. To top it all off, the game inexplicably ends after less than 30 hours with most of the major plot points left wholly unresolved.

Though the game features several imaginative environments, the same can’t be said for its pedestrian, trope-riddled story.

Despite their relative strength, the disparate halves of White Knight Chronicles fail to gel in meaningful ways.

If you agree with what I wrote earlier you will surely agree that this comment is slightly idiotic. 1UP and IGN are two very large game sites and have a lot of support from users online, but I’d hardly say that two reviews like these make the others less important. I can not for the mind of me understand how the rest (60-73) are bad scores. Because, from the pure score we can conceive that the game is relatively good, but it lacks in some areas to make it stand out from many other games. Where 50/100 is acceptable and less makes a relatively bad game I can’t mount up 60/100 or 70/100 as a bad score. His comment in particular is directed at “White Knight Chronicles” but even if it’s been an anticipated title, the score isn’t bad. Why? Because the hype doesn’t make the game. The game does.

Hello everyone. I was just reading a thread on gametrailers when I suddenly realised something. There have been plenty of articles covering how games have become easier through the ages.

A lot of gamers mention Super Mario Bros in situations like these and I can’t help but think of something. If you “die” in these Mario games you are simply pushed back to the beginning of the level or back onto the world map, so rather than being easy they simply apply harsher punishment for dying. This in my opinion means that the games aren’t harder, and that the modern games simply have implemented more checkpoints and save functions in order to allow a less annoying experience.

Platform games in the old days were much about perfecting your timing for each map rather than learning how to become an overall skilled player. Given a new map you’d have to practice through this one just as hard as you did on the last one, and die over and over again until you finally finished a game.

In modern games, however, we tend to look upon a game like Call of Duty as a relatively easy game, even on the hardest difficulty. Why? Because it still doesn’t take 20+ hours to finish. You don’t have to go back to the beginning of a level if you die and that in itself has become some sort of negative. But if you look at it that way, the only reason that the former games were harder was because of harsher punishment when you died, and not that you died more.

It’s a theory in the works, let any thoughts that cross your mind (except for abusive language) out in the comment section.

There are tons of individual moviemakers out there, and a lot of them make movies that make Hollywood seem like an immature teenage boy trying to hit it with the ladies.

Enjoying Eternal Sonata

I just started playing this wonderful tribute to the nineteenth century and… I wish gor you to enjoy it as well. To fully enjoy this game, I must ask that you do so in a place where ypu can allow yourself to get spellbound by a visually appealing object/painting/sculpture. The game very much lives on the battles and stunning visuals, don’t forget that you can alter between voice language with or without subtitles if dubbing puts you off.

By the way, one of the best mediaservers I’ve come across is called “PS3 media server” and allows for streaming on both PS3 and 360. Just in case you really want to watch those .mkv files on your tv.
It fully supports a bunch of codecs, just connect both your PC and console to your network and “PS3 media server” will automatically discover your console when it’s turned on. If you stumble across any problems google is your best friend.

PDFCreator; Save a webpage to a harddrive

Hello everyone. I recently stumbled across a useful software that creates a PDF file out of a website of your choice. Simply install the program, run it, select to print the website and then choose PDFCreator as your printer. It will ask you whether you want to save it and from there on out it’s one click away from making sure you can access the webpage as a PDF file. Extremely useful if you won’t have access to an internet connection but still want to be able to access information from a webpage you’ve come across. Just save it on a portable disk, USB or an external harddrive.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy

It turns out that Dissidia: Final Fantasy has stolen more than just money from peoples wallets. Considering that it’s a fighting-based game it lasts for an incredibly long time. So far I’ve devoted approximately 160 hours with this game and I’ve heard online of people that have played for 800 hours. I can honestly say that I never before have spent this much time with one game. It’s ridicilously big with a huge set of accomplishments to finish (achievements/trophies if you will) and with ad-hoc party that was released on the Playstation Network not too long ago you can now play against other players online through a PS3 with an internet connection.

Don’t forget the time-extending replay function which is essentially theatre mode from Halo 3 in a less ergonomic but still very entertaining mode that allows you to convert your videos, save them on your PSP as .avi files and play them on your computer, PS3 or upload it online (youtube, there are already tons of videos on there) and take screenshots.

If you own this lovely game, feel free to tell me so that we can play this blowjob (it really blows the fans of the series) of a game together. Looking forward to it, later!

Patentsketches for Sony’s Motion Controller

Sony wants to reach a new audience with their recently announced motion controller, these sketches that have been patented by Sony probably gives you an idea of what they have in mind. With, what Sony claims to be, unparalleled precision and the ball at the top to track 3D movement they are aiming to revolutionise the world the way we all thought Nintendo would at first.

With Wii-Motion Plus the question remains whether this will win a portion of the Wii owners over or not? It all comes down to third party support and from that standpoint we all know that Sony has an advantage. However, with the current pricetag and a complex development platform the result remains to be seen. The planned release for these controllers is early 2010.

The sketches also hint that either the controller has a long way to go before it’s final design has been decided or maybe we’ll see some add-ons for the motion controller. Playstation Motion Controller Plus 3?

Gran Turismo Demo – December 17th

For those of you who keep their heads on the right line this shouldn’t come as big news, but as I myself didn’t know of this until just now I feel compelled to share this.
